Volunteer Central

Dear potential Children & Family Ministry Volunteer,

We are excited that you want to check out the Children’s Ministry at Our Savior’s. We believe faith is a family affair. Therefore, we invite involvement in our Children & Family Ministry from all of the members at Our Savior’s remembering that we are all part of God’s family, whether or not we have kids in the program! Quality, faith-deepening programs cannot happen without the dedication of teachers, assistants, event helpers and people working behind the scenes. Please prayerfully consider how you might participate in our growing Children’s Ministry. We want to help you find where you can use your God-given gifts to invest in the lives of children. Your first step to getting involved will be to submit the interest survey.

First, let us ease your mind about a few things:

You don’t have to be an expert.
Each member of our Children & Family Ministry team has one thing in common: a passion for children. If you have a heart to love God and a desire to work with children, then you have the two basic ingredients necessary to become a leader in children’s ministry. You do not need a degree in early childhood development or elementary education to be a great leader in Children’s Ministry. We will equip and train you for your ministry.

You do not need all the time in the world.
You can successfully minister to children with a minimal time commitment. We have many ways that you can minister to children in a time frame that will work for you! During the weekend services, in just an hour each week, you will be able to form relationships with children and their parents that will communicate love and value, not only from you, but also from God. Or you could work behind the scene with our Bucket Brigade prepping materials for classes or join us for a one-time special event. There’s a place for you on our team!

You will not be alone.
You will be supported in your ministry through the Children & Family Ministry staff and leadership team. We plan enrichments throughout the year that are designed to encourage, equip, energize and empower you for ministry. You will not be a lone ranger in your ministry to children...guaranteed! And we
celebrate the incredible things our volunteers do on behalf of kids!

Safety is important to us.

Because we value the safety of all God's children, every volunteer wishing to serve in Our Savior's Children & Family Ministry complete the volunteer screening process. All volunteers in direct contact with children must follow established safety and security guidelines for Children and Family Ministry programs, including submitting to the church’s policies on background checks and safety training.

We look forward to getting to know you and to helping you find where God has shaped you to be. It will be exciting to watch God at work in you and through you as you minister to the children and families of Our Savior’s.

Serving with you,

Children & Family Ministry Team
