Our Savior’s recently formed an Emergency Preparedness Task Force. The task force is comprised of staff and lay volunteers.
Their purpose is to help the Our Savior’s family prepare for possible community emergencies through education, preparation, and implementation.
What is Emergency Preparedness?
An emergency is defined as an unforeseen combination of circumstances, resulting in a state that calls for immediate action or an urgent need for assistance or relief (ER preparedness guide, Washington County). In our area, we need to be most prepared for possible flooding, tornados, blizzards, and flu outbreaks. Given these possibilities our church and each individual should begin to take steps to prepare themselves should they need to stay home (shelter in place) for a long period of time or should they need to evacuate quickly to another location. Being prepared can help us alleviate anxieties, minimize dangers and allow us to help others.
